About NatureSpy
NatureSpy is a UK-based wildlife technology and conservation social enterprise. We develop and supply trail cameras and wildlife monitoring equipment, and use that technology to support active conservation work across the globe.
Role overview
We are seeking an organised and motivated Projects Assistant to support our Conservation Manager across an active portfolio of projects and day-to-day tasks. This is a varied role that sits at the heart of our conservation work, touching on everything from data management and logistics to storytelling and partnerships and is suited to someone who works well independently and on initiative.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and organising data coming back from trail cameras in the field and keeping our data management system structured, up to date, and accessible
- Reviewing data to curate highlight imagery and extract conservation stories for use across social media, videos, marketing campaigns, and online content
- Occasional content writing — conservation stories, project updates, and species highlights for online audiences
- Supporting communications with conservation partners and collaborating organisations
- Coordinating equipment dispatch to project partners through our third-party warehouse and managing incoming and outgoing kit
- Occasionally attending partner and stakeholder meetings, remote or in-person
- Travelling periodically across the UK for fieldwork — for example supporting our pine marten project in Yorkshire — including camera trap deployment, data collection, and associated training
What we're looking for
Essential
- Degree in wildlife biology, conservation, zoology or similar
- Demonstrable knowledge of wildlife and conservation - including strong identification skills for UK and international wildlife
- Familiarity with using trail cameras either for personal or professional use
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage large volumes of data and digital files
- Proficiency in standard digital tools and file management systems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience drafting content for conservation or nature-based audiences
- Clear, professional written communication skills suitable for external correspondence
- Proactive, self-directed working style suited to home working
- Willingness and ability to travel around the UK periodically
Desirable
- Hands-on experience deploying or managing trail cameras in the field
- Any background in project coordination or logistics
- Experience with wildlife monitoring or citizen science projects
- A UK driving licence would be advantageous
What we offer
- Home-working
- 28 days’ paid annual leave per year
- The chance to contribute directly to meaningful UK conservation projects
- An extra day off on your birthday
- Company pension scheme
- Company laptop provided
