About the Farm Carbon Toolkit
The Farm Carbon Toolkit (FCT) is a leading, independent farmer-led enterprise. Our mission is to provide world-leading practical and impact-led solutions to farmers, growers, land managers and their customers, to support the transition to climate-positive and resilient food production systems. We are an employee-owned organisation, guided by four core values: to be collaborative, practical, empathetic, and science-driven.
Overview of this Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with financial processes. You will oversee day-to-day forecasting, supporting and managing budgets, managing our financial accounting systems and ensuring our financial policies are well-designed and adhered to. In an organisation with both commercial and grant-aided income, you will assist with the submission of tenders, quotes and grant claims, as well as overseeing expenses management for our dynamic team.
You will maintain a professional environment for our financial management systems and processes. You will develop trusting relationships across the organisations to support financial understanding, awareness and effective delivery. In this role, you will report regularly to the senior leadership team, and participate in the director’s finance working group, to ensure transparency and support accountability for budgets and forecasts.
Please refer to the job description for full details of the role and responsibilities.
About the team and work environment
Our core values are to be collaborative, practical, empathetic and science-driven. These values help build our culture, shape our purpose and guide us in our actions and decisions. We are also an employee-owned organisation. This means that staff collectively have a stake in the success of FCT, while creating opportunities for employees to have a stronger voice in how we are run.
We draw inspiration from farmers who are showcasing and helping to support a thriving low-carbon farming future that produces healthy, nutritious food for all. Across our projects, we are committed to working with all farmers to support them towards this vision.
As a small, remote-working organisation, we recognise the challenges, as well as the flexibility this can bring. We come together as a full team, in person, at least four times per year to reflect and discuss our work and plan for the future.
We enjoy working together, collaborating, and learning from each other. We are a dynamic, flexible and supportive team of people who care about each other’s well-being and the world around us. We strive to be an inclusive organisation, committed to building a team of capable and thriving people from all walks of life. As such, we encourage applications from anyone who feels they have the relevant experience and skills.
