About Us

Wick Care Farm (WCF) offers a therapeutic, nature-based environment where children and adults can experience a meaningful shift in perspective and improve their overall wellbeing. Through working with animals, growing plants, engaging with nature, and taking part in creative projects, individuals are supported to rediscover purpose and build a more fulfilling way of living. Our team works with a diverse group of people, including those facing mental-health challenges, young people struggling in education, and individuals recently diagnosed with neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia or Huntington’s disease.

About The Role

As our Care Farm Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, lead the Operational Senior Team, and play a pivotal role in delivering our Strategic Plan over the next three years.

You’ll lead the continued growth, quality, and smooth running of WCF’s services. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, support and line-manage staff and volunteers, and ensure our therapeutic work is delivered safely, effectively, and in line with all regulatory requirements. You’ll work closely with the Directors and Steering Committee to develop services, monitor performance, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for improvement or expansion. You’ll also keep the organisation informed about any external or regulatory changes that may affect service delivery, helping WCF stay responsive, compliant, and forward-looking.

About You

You’re someone who brings both heart, knowledge and practical experience to your work. You understand that every person who comes to the farm has their own story, strengths, and challenges, and you are confident supporting adults and young people with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental-health needs.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience of working with adults and/or children and young people with diverse social, emotional, and mental-health needs
  • Experience of managing a team, including one-to-one reviews and implementing HR procedures
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including Risk Assessments and COSHH
  • A good working knowledge of safeguarding and child-protection principles
  • Good organisational skills and experience of budget planning and tracking financial performance

Above all, you’re someone who leads with kindness, communicates openly, actively listens, and thrives in a community-focused environment where people feel safe, valued, and able to grow.

What We Offer

  • A warm, supportive team
  • A role where your ideas and creativity are valued
  • The chance to shape a unique therapeutic environment
  • Work that feels purposeful every single day
  • Training and development opportunities

The role will require an enhanced DBS check.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.

Closing date for applications is 7th April 2026 with interviews to be held on 28th April.
