Shape the future of land-based industries at the stunning Kingston Maurward Campus

Why this role is special

Arboriculture specialists don’t come along every day and when they do, we want to help them flourish. That’s why this role comes with a £7,000 Market Forces Supplement, fully funded teacher training, and exceptional support to help you transition into (or develop within) teaching. Whether you're already in education or coming straight from industry, we’ll invest in you.

We’re also open to full-time or part‑time arrangements, and can discuss relocation support and on‑site accommodation to help you make the move.

Did we mention, 56 days leave per year, plus Christmas and New Year shut down and a fantastic opportunity to join Teachers Pension Scheme.

All of this set within the incredible grounds of the Kingston Maurward Campus, part of the newly formed Coastland College.

About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, and motivated Lecturer in Arboriculture to join our land‑based team. You'll be teaching and training students in arboriculture, horticulture, and countryside management across Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, helping them gain the skills they need to succeed in a growing, in-demand industry.

If you're passionate about your craft, enjoy working outdoors as much as in the classroom, and love the idea of shaping the next generation of arborists, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

No teaching experience? No problem.

We welcome talented industry professionals ready to bring their knowledge to education. We’ll give you free, fully funded teaching qualifications, time to study, and all the support you need to thrive.

What you’ll bring

  • Solid, hands-on experience in arboriculture (plus horticulture/countryside knowledge ideal)
  • A genuine passion for developing learners
  • Strong organisational skills and a positive, flexible approach
  • Confidence working both practically and academically

Contract & Salary

  • Hours: Full-time (37 hours, Monday–Friday) or part-time/job-share considered
  • Contract: Permanent, Academic Contract
  • Salary: From £31,363 per year, (pro-rata for part time hours) depending on qualifications and experience
  • plus:
  • £7,000 per year, Market Forces Supplement (Pro-rata for part time)
  • Relocation and on-site accommodation options available for the right candidate
