Role & Responsibilities

Join London Wildlife Trust at an exciting moment for nature recovery in the capital. As our Senior Rewilding Partnerships Officer, you will play a central role in developing and delivering ambitious, large-scale urban rewilding pilot projects in partnership with local authorities, the Greater London Authority, landowners and communities.

Working within the Nature Recovery team and reporting to the Nature Recovery Programmes Manager, you will lead the coordination of complex, multi-partner programmes focused on restoring nature at scale through a rewilding approach to land management. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing innovative rewilding projects, working closely with landowners, communities, and other stakeholders, and demonstrating what is possible for nature recovery and rewilding within urban environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the development and initial delivery of two major rewilding pilot projects, ensuring alignment, strong planning, and timely delivery;
  • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with local authorities, landowners and stakeholders;
  • Managing consultants and technical specialists (e.g. ecological, hydrological and design consultants);
  • Supporting project planning, risk management, governance and delivery tracking across partners;
  • Acting as a key point of contact to ensure effective communication and collaborative decision-making;
  • Supporting governance structures including steering groups and advisory boards;
  • Contributing to funding bids, reporting and monitoring frameworks;
  • Supporting inclusive community engagement, co-design processes and local consultation;
  • Helping share learning, develop case studies and promote partnership-led, large scale, urban rewilding.

We’re looking for a highly organised and collaborative professional with experience delivering projects in complex, multi-partner environments.

You will bring:

  • Proven project or programme management experience
  • Strong partnership-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working with local authorities or public sector partners
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing abilities
  • Confidence managing multiple workstreams in evolving environments
  • An interest in nature recovery, rewilding or environmental projects

Desirable experience includes:

  • Managing consultants or technical services
  • Community engagement or co-design approaches
  • Knowledge of London’s habitats and wildlife
  • Experience in environmental, green infrastructure or climate resilience projects

(Please see job description for full person specification)

Closing Date: Monday 20th April (9am)
Interviews: Scheduled to take place on Tuesday 5th May. Reasonable adjustments will be offered to all candidates, including the choice to meet online or in person.
