About The Role

Caerlaverock is a stunning nature reserve situated on the north Solway coast. We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Supervisor to join our small team.

This post will suit someone with skills in managing all aspects of a self-catering accommodation, operations, building maintenance, contract management and operational aspects of a visitor attraction.

They would also be inspired by working on one of the best nature reserves in Scotland.

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days in 7 including weekend and bank holiday working.

About You

The successful candidate will be motivated by working on an amazing site rich in wildlife surrounded by a stunning landscape. They will be flexible, great at problem solving and with a can do attitude. And have really good people skills.

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Full, current driving licence

We are looking for someone with ability to:

  • Experience of managing contractors undertaking maintenance, repair or cleaning contracts
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver small-scale projects on time and within set resources
  • Experience of working in a customer/visitor-facing setting and ability to engage positively with the public to promote work of WWT and Caerlaverock
  • Experience of operating self-catering holiday accommodation
  • Demonstrable passion for nature conservation and sustainable site management.
  • Day-to-day responsibility for maintenance and safe use of built infrastructure, habitats, visitor facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to think creatively and assist the Centre and Reserve Manager with forward planning and problem solving
