Regional Net Zero Fundraiser
Diocese of Bath and Wells
Are you motivated by building strong relationships, shaping strategy, and securing funding that leads directly to reduced carbon emissions? If so, this is an opportunity to use your expertise where it matters most.
You will play a key part in helping five Church of England dioceses reach their Net Zero Carbon target, enabling projects that directly cut emissions across thousands of buildings in a variety of contexts, including historic church buildings.
This role gives the opportunity to work within a unique regional scope across the Dioceses of Bath and Wells, Bristol, Exeter, Salisbury and Truro. You will lead the identification of funding opportunities and the development of large-scale proposals that support Net Zero Carbon projects across the five dioceses. You’ll nurture relationships with potential funders, national teams, diocesan staff and local stakeholders.
This is a brand-new grant funded post, giving you the opportunity to build the fundraising approach from the ground up, influence strategy, and leave a lasting imprint on how the region secures financial support for sustainability. You’ll receive structured training and ongoing support from all five diocesan teams and the Church of England’s national Net Zero team.
The role offers flexible, home-based working - you can be based anywhere within the region, although you will be required to visit the Wells office once a month as well as occasional visits to all five dioceses. To succeed, you’ll bring:
- A strong fundraising background, particularly in major bids and strategic proposals
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Initiative, organisation and the ability to manage a regional brief
- A collaborative, adaptable approach
- An understanding of or sympathy with the ethos of the Church of England
We welcome applications from those of all backgrounds and faiths. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required due to the regional nature of the role.
Information submitted by candidates as part of the recruitment and selection process will be shared securely with members of the selection panel from the Dioceses of Bath and Wells, Bristol, Exeter, Salisbury and Truro. Privacy policies are available on the website of each diocese.
