About the post
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Devon County Council’s Waste Management Team. We are nationally renowned for our top recycling rates. To push these figures higher and to reduce the volume of waste that is created, we need to communicate the right information to the right people in the right way. And this is where you come in.
You will lead the RecycleDevon communications team, prioritising the development and implementation of waste prevention, reuse and recycling campaigns, ensuring we take every opportunity to influence and engage with the general public. You will be highly skilled in the digital marketing sphere, aiming to extend our reach over the full range of social media platforms. You will oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of campaigns and on-line/social networking activities, ensuring our social networking sites are dynamic and engaging and our www.recycledevon.org website is relevant, appealing and up-to-date. You will also lead on the planning, development and delivery of a wide range of community engagement events.
You will also manage the Marketing and PR contract which delivers expertise in PR and media and creative design.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of waste management communications across the county.
About you
You will be highly experienced in communications, marketing and behavioural change and will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
You will have excellent people skills, and will be experienced at partnership working. Enthusiastic and confident, creative and innovative, you have first-class communication skills and extraordinary digital marketing skills. You are organised, efficient and always work accurately to tight deadlines and the highest standards. A great team player with excellent IT skills you are the perfect person to support our forward thinking team and help shape how we deliver behavioural change.
