Contract period: 18 month fixed-term contract with potential to extend

We are seeking a qualified, Portuguese-speaking candidate to join the project team to support the delivery of this exciting and ambitious project. The position will operate under a coordinated employment arrangement between Fauna & Flora and Fundação Príncipe, and will be based on the island of Príncipe with regular travel to São Tomé.

You will contribute to island-wide conservation activities with a particular focus on establishing MPA’s and supporting community co-management. The role will help deliver the project through a combination of administrative and technical support, while also enabling the FP team and consortium partners to further develop their skills and knowledge in marine conservation. The post would be ideal for someone with excellent organisational and communications skills and experience in marine ecology and biodiversity conservation.

A collaborative team player, you will enjoy the challenges of working in a dynamic team located in a remote environment, where teamwork, resilience, adaptability and creative approaches and problem solving are essential to delivering project activities. At least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant experience is expected. In return, the role offers the opportunity to work within an exciting and complex seascape alongside two ground breaking and entrepreneurial organisations who are at the forefront of marine conservation.
