Engagement Officer (Grosvenor Square)

đź’° Salary: ÂŁ31,715 per annum

📍Location: This role is based at The Wheatsheaf Learning Hub (Grosvenor Square, W1K 6LF), with occasional travel to Fivefields (SW1W 0DH), and other London Wildlife Trust sites as required.

Hours: This is a full-time role that includes regular weekend working, with a Sunday to Thursday working pattern.

Role & Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the launch of the newly redesigned Grosvenor Square. Working as part of our Learning & Engagement team, you will support with the development and delivery of a dynamic programme of activities from the new learning hub, engaging a wide range of audiences with the site’s unique wildlife and heritage. The role combines public events, family learning and community engagement, with a focus on co-creating inclusive experiences that connect under-represented groups with nature.

  • Develop and deliver a varied programme of public events, including workshops, guided walks and seasonal activities focused on the site’s wildlife and heritage
  • Create and run engaging family learning activities for children aged 0–11, including weekend, holiday and early years sessions
  • Plan and coordinate seasonal family open days to increase visitor engagement and footfall
  • Work with local communities and partners to co-create inclusive activities that reduce barriers to participation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders and local networks around Grosvenor Square
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure alignment with wider Learning & Engagement programmes across sites
  • Source and manage external facilitators and partners to support high-quality event delivery
  • Promote activities through marketing channels, including social media content, listings and liaison with the Communications team
  • Manage the practical delivery of events, including planning, set-up, facilitation, health & safety, and pack-down
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement activities, collecting data and feedback to support impact measurement and reporting

Our ideal Engagement Officer

  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating, and delivering public engagement events and activities
  • Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences including families and underserved communities
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Committed to creating a welcoming visitor experience, with a dedication to reducing barriers in accessing nature
