Are you able to deliver fantastic customer service, and would you like to work for an organisation that is making a big difference to our natural world? We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to work in our café, welcome visitors and maintain visitor standards at RSPB South Stack.

Our café and visitor offer is a crucial part of what we do here, encouraging visitors to explore the reserve, and giving them a great visitor experience.

Duties will include working in our café serving customers and helping to maintain the high visitor standards of our busy visitor operation. You will be able to communicate well with our visitors and offer excellent levels of customer care.

Our work is planned via the use of rotas and this part-time role will include weekend and bank holiday working. Full induction and training will be provided.

This is an 8-hour contract working Monday & Friday with an additional 8 contracted hours during peak season on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Flexibility to cover additional shifts is an essential as part of this role.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Positive and reliable approach to supporting visitors and colleagues
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidently with visitors and colleagues
  • Able to respond positively and professionally to visitor questions and customer service situations.
  • Able to handle payments and follow cash handling procedures accurately
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers in a busy visitor environment
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene practices in a café or customer-facing environment
  • Able to manage day-to-day tasks independently and stay organised during busy periods
  • Able to provide friendly and helpful customer service to a wide range of visitors

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.

Additional Information

The contract will be an immediate start, ending 4th October 2026. We reserve the right to extend make permanent at any time.
