Environmental Education

What makes an engaging lesson for primary pupils or adults developing their skills? How do we share our passion and knowledge about the environment in ways that inspire others? What goes into making effective educational and training materials?

If those questions excite you, we invite you to apply to join our team as a Project Officer (Education and Training). We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced individual that has the ability and enthusiasm to support a range of projects delivered by the Centre. A significant area of project work will be supporting development and delivery of our environmental education and training programmes. We have a long history of providing education across climate and environmental topics throughout Dumfries and Galloway and peatland restoration training throughout the UK and Ireland. We are now seeking to bring the two programmes together and support learning from primary to professionals!

As with any CCC role, you’ll be working across projects. We’re interdisciplinary, and are always interested in how the skills and passions of team members can support each other and create innovative, unique outcomes. You may also have the opportunity to develop educational projects and materials about your ecological interests or specialisms.

This Project Officer post is a full time permanent appointment, working 37 hours a week. Flexible working can be discussed and reduced hours may be considered.

The post is offered at a starting remuneration of £29,000 pro rata. Higher remuneration will be considered for candidates with extensive and demonstrable experience that meets the desirable criteria for the role.

Living (or relocating) to Dumfries and Galloway is essential for this role, as is a full UK driving license and right to live and work in the UK. Appointment is subject to a successful PVG check.

If you see this as a great opportunity to use your skills, help us deliver on the ground action and develop as an organisation, all with the camaraderie of working as part of a team and network of partner organisations, please answer this call!
