We are hiring a Head of Road Transport. 1-year fixed term contract, 0.8 or 1 FTE. Remote, 1 day/month in London minimum.
The role will involve setting up and leading our new Road Transport workstream, to complement our existing workstreams on power, steel, and analytical tools. We have projects and funding lined up for the first year, and the post-holder will lead on design and fundraising for future years.
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional to lead the work. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of policy and economics, engaging with governments and international partners to help shape the future of zero-emission road transport.
In the first year, you will lead on a minimum of two projects. The first is to coordinate a project to assess policy options for road transport decarbonisation in Brazil using modelling, data analysis, and qualitative policy research, working closely with the International Council for Clean Transportation and academic partners. The second is to assess risks and opportunities of heavy goods vehicle transition policies in the UK, as part of a project engaging with finance ministries through an international coalition.
The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and experience of the road transport transition, policy, analysis, desk-based research, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical findings to a range of audiences are essential, as is the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Experience of partnership working is desirable.
The role is fully remote, with occasional travel to London required (minimum of 1 day/ month). If based abroad, you must provide evidence that you have the right to work in your country of residence.
