Job Introduction

Help Shape the Future of One of Lincolnshire’s Most Ambitious Heritage and Landscape Initiatives

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lincolnshire County Council as Project Officer for the Roots of Kesteven partnership project, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Roots of Kesteven is an ambitious woodland, heritage and landscape initiative bringing together local authorities, environmental organisations, landowners, communities and volunteers to develop a long-term vision for the natural and historic environment across the Kesteven area.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to help lead the delivery of the project’s scoping and feasibility phase. The successful candidate will work closely with partners including the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Woodland Trust, district councils, communities and specialist consultants.

The role will involve:

  • Coordinating complex partnership projects and commissioned studies
  • Managing consultants, budgets and project programmes
  • Supporting the development of future funding opportunities
  • Developing detailed project briefs and evidence-based reports
  • Working with communities and stakeholders to shape future delivery
  • Supporting the development of sustainable land management, heritage and access initiatives
  • Monitoring project outputs and reporting to funders and partners

You will need:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Significant experience in countryside, environmental, heritage or landscape-based project delivery
  • Excellent partnership and communication skills
  • Experience of managing externally funded projects and budgets
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a major future landscape initiative within Lincolnshire, helping connect communities, heritage, woodland creation, access and nature recovery. If you would like an open and informal discussion regards this role then please contact [email protected]

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements.

Lincolnshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

A Smarter Working Employer

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Our values – collaborative, adaptable, eco-conscious, supportive, and responsible – guide everything we do. We’re looking for candidates who share these values and bring them to life in their work, helping us build strong teams and make a real difference in the communities we serve.
