The Role

We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills to head our Ranger Team.

You'll provide strategic leadership for the team, delivering engagement programmes, ranger services and initiatives that help more people connect with, enjoy and care for the Peak District National Park. Working across the organisation and with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering the National Park Management Plan, Authority Plan and Diverse Audience Plan.

This is a varied leadership role where you'll shape how we engage with communities, visitors, volunteers and partners, champion innovation, and develop opportunities that widen participation and support the National Park's special qualities.

Working collaboratively with our partners, you'll build strong relationships, secure external funding, manage budgets and resources, and drive continuous improvement across the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic priorities and make a lasting contribution to the future of the Peak District National Park.

About You

You'll be a strong leader with a background in ranger, engagement or countryside services, ideally within a protected landscape or similar environment. You'll be able to build effective partnerships and deliver successful engagement programmes that connect people with nature.

You'll hold a degree, relevant professional qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.

About Us

The Peak District National Park was the first of Britain’s 15 national parks and is still enjoyed by millions, looking for both adventure and a breathing space to escape. It is also the most accessible due to its proximity to four major cities of the UK and its 38,000 residents. We recognise the importance of our national park, and our job is to speak up and care for the Peak District National Park for all to enjoy forever.
