Overall purpose of the job:

The Ecologist/Senior Ecologist role will join our expanding Development Team, taking the lead on delivering habitat and species assessments throughout the Severn catchment. The successful candidate will play a key role in the facilitation of a range of highly ambitious, landscape altering restoration schemes, through the provision of end-to-end ecological support to both our charitable programmes and our expanding portfolio of commercial based services, offered by our consultancy arm, Severn Rivers Ecology.

The role will be varied and highly rewarding, with a significant degree of autonomy, requiring a motivated individual who is invested in our wider vision, supporting with the establishment of monitoring programmes and coordinating a small team of freelance ecologists, to help expand our reach and capability.

About Severn Rivers Trust

‍We are an independent charity established in 2008 to protect and enhance the river Severn, its tributaries and streams. At Severn Rivers Trust we are fighting for a future where our children and grand children can enjoy healthy vibrant rivers teeming with diverse and wonderful life – from Atlantic salmon to white clawed crayfish, and from freshwater pearl mussels to European eel. We want to preserve these special places for everyone to enjoy – to walk, play, swim, paddle and make lasting memories.
