Are you passionate about providing excellent service and supporting customers to have smooth journeys? Do you want to be part of a leading Scottish environmental charity delivering solutions for low carbon living? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing team as a Household Support Officer, supporting the delivery of energy efficiency upgrade projects across Scotland.

As Household Support Officer, you will assist householders who are having energy efficiency upgrades installed in their homes. From explaining the steps involved to resolving any complaints, your role will be to work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that householders receive excellent service throughout. You’ll have the ability to resolve problems, implement lessons learned and work across the team to support our range of projects. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of the environmental sector, however having an excellent track record in customer service is really the key to this role.

You will be engaging with householders over the phone, by email and in person, in their homes and at events. The ability to travel to different sites across Scotland is an essential. The role will require occasional driving of fleet vehicles to attend sites throughout the South East of Scotland. If you do not currently have a full driver’s licence, in your application please highlight how you would achieve this.

Your nearest office will be in Edinburgh, and we encourage people to meet with colleagues regularly. We offer flexible working patterns to support your life outside work, with part time hours available (at a minimum of 21 hours per week).

About us

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.

Closing date for applications: 11am, Monday 17 August 2026

Interviews: Week commencing 24 August 2026
