Join our education team during our busiest and most rewarding months, helping people connect with nature through hands-on outdoor learning.

Our permanent seasonal contract gives you the best of both worlds – a chance to make a difference during our core season, with the security of knowing you can return to the team each year.

• You’ll work an average of 37.5 hours per week during the core season (normally February to November) each year.
• £28,470 per annum FTE + excellent benefits including generous annual leave, life assurance 5 x your salary, cycle to work, EV scheme, discounts and cashback opportunities
• Plus, a Health and Wellbeing Support App for you and eligible family members to access remote GP appointments, mental health consultations, physio, financial & legal support
• We also have accommodation available during the season if required

At the Field Studies Council, our mission is to create outstanding opportunities that inspire everyone to engage with and care for the environment.

Every day, you’ll play a part in that mission. From school groups experiencing the outdoors for the first time to adult learners developing their knowledge and confidence, the sessions you deliver will help people build a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Spend your days inspiring others outdoors

As a tutor, you will deliver engaging science and geography field trips alongside a wide range of outdoor education experiences for school groups, colleges, universities, families, and adult learners.

No two days are quite the same, and every week brings new learners, new experiences and new opportunities to make a difference.

Your role will include planning and delivering sessions, adapting activities to suit different learners, and making sure everything you do is safe and inclusive.

You will have the opportunity to contribute new ideas and activities, working closely with a supportive education team to improve and grow what we offer.

When you are not delivering in the field, you will support the wider running of a busy education centre. This is an active role, weekly hours will vary, with more during busy periods and fewer in quieter weeks. Some weeks can be busy and demanding, but it is also highly rewarding work.

Based in a historic country house, you'll work in a setting where the natural environment provides countless opportunities for hands-on outdoor learning, helping learners of all ages connect with nature through exploration and discovery.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and some experience of teaching or tutoring.
• You’ll be confident planning sessions, preparing learning resources, and engaging a wide range of learners.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum & Geography and Biology specifications would be advantageous.
