Village Halls and Community Buildings Sustainability Advisor

Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) is a growing, countywide charity looking for an experienced Sustainability Adviser to help the trustees of village halls and community buildings make their facilities more sustainable, guiding them towards carbon neutrality. From energy audits and implementation plans to consultations and workshops, the postholder will provide village halls and community buildings with high quality advice and support, helping them to secure a sustainable future.
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience of energy efficiency technologies, renewable energy and building systems.
- Experience of conducting energy audits, creating implementation plans and writing reports.
- Knowledge of funding opportunities and experience of supporting grant applications.
- Experience of organising events, workshops and consultations.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be:
- An enthusiastic team player able to work collaboratively with others.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage priorities and deadlines without close supervision.
- Motivated to work with communities, voluntary groups and volunteers.
This post will be based at the RCCE offices at Feering, near Colchester, but home working will be permitted. You are required to have a full driving licence and access to a car. This is a fixed term contract until 30th June 2029
