Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Fisheries

Join SAERI to lead an exciting research project investigating how climate change and environmental conditions influence the recruitment of Doryteuthis gahi (Patagonian longfin squid), one of the Falkland Islands' most important commercial fisheries. Working with long-term datasets and collaborating with government, industry and research partners, you'll help develop the science that supports sustainable fisheries management for the future.

We’re looking for

  • PhD (or equivalent) in Marine Ecology, Oceanography, Fisheries Science, or Quantitative Ecology
  • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills (R and/or Python)
  • Experience in handling large, multi-source datasets
  • Excellent project management and communication skills

What you will do

  • Analyse long-term fisheries, environmental and oceanographic datasets
  • Develop predictive models to support fisheries management
  • Publish high-impact scientific research and technical reports
  • Work closely with government, industry and research partners
