Education and Community Officer (maternity cover)
Based at Far Ings National Nature Reserve, Barton upon Humber
Circa £24,500 per annum (pro-rata 4 days per week including some Sundays) depending on experience. Fixed Term 12 months.
Do you have a passion for nature, the environment and education? Do you love inspiring people about wildlife and love the idea of working in a visitor centre environment in one of the UK’s best spaces for nature? Then this may be the post for you.
We are looking for someone to work as part of the education and visitor centre team to deliver a programme of environmental education and nature-connectedness activities for schools, colleges and universities and our family Nature Clubs, as well as providing an excellent visitor experience to reserve visitors.
This is an incredibly varied post that would suit someone who wants to deliver environmental education, but who also has an interest in wider visitor management and events.
You will need to have some environmental education teaching experience and have a good working knowledge of the wildlife and environmental issues. You should have an outgoing personality and be comfortable communicating with people of all ages and abilities, be IT literate and have some experience in basic administration.
The post will involve working with children and the successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check.
