Carbon, Climate & EnergySustainability

Join a Top 20 Global University for Sustainability

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Energy Assistant to join the University’s Sustainability Team.

This is a key role supporting the effective management of the University’s utilities portfolio, helping to control costs, reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental performance across a diverse estate.

You’ll deliver high-quality utilities analysis, reporting and financial administration, providing the robust data needed to drive informed decision-making and operational improvement. From managing utility invoices and recharges to tracking consumption trends and performance, your work will directly support the University’s sustainability ambitions.

You’ll also help develop and enhance dashboards, reports and visualisation tools, turning complex utilities information into clear, actionable insights for a wide range of stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in energy and sustainability while making a tangible contribution to one of the UK's leading universities.

About You

You are highly organised, numerate and comfortable working with large datasets. You have strong Excel and IT skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.

You will be confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders, and capable of investigating issues, identifying trends and supporting continuous improvement.

An interest in energy, utilities, sustainability or environmental performance would be advantageous, together with a practical and problem-solving approach to your work.

In return, you'll gain valuable experience in a dynamic sustainability team, helping to shape the University's journey towards a low-carbon future.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
