Lincolnshire Wolds Farming in Protected Landscapes Assistant Project Officer

The Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service is seeking an enthusiastic and organised FiPL Assistant Project Officer to support the delivery of the Government's very successful Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) Programme across the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape.

The Farming in Protected Landscapes programme provides grant funding for projects that deliver benefits for nature, climate, people and place, helping to ensure the Lincolnshire Wolds continues to thrive for future generations. You will play an important role in supporting the successful governance, monitoring and promotion of this high-profile programme.

About the Role

Working closely with the principal FiPL Project Officer and Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape team, you will help encourage and facilitate a diverse portfolio of grant-funded land management projects from aiding the first steps of initial enquiries, through to assisting the Local Assessment Panel it its review of applications.

You will support financial management and monitoring processes, maintain accurate project records, prepare reports and updates, help administer meetings and provide secretariat support to the programme. The role will also involve helping to develop and promote case studies, celebrating project achievement and contributing to annual programme reviews and reporting requirements.

An important part of the role will be developing positive working relationships with farmers, landowners and land managers and key organisations involved in the programme. You will also support wider promotional activity and assist in sharing good practice across the national FiPL network.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines excellent organisational skills with an interest in environmental, conservation or rural development work. It is essential that you have a degree level qualification in environmental management, land management, rural development or similar; or can offer equivalent relevant work experience.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of supporting projects or programmes, managing information accurately and working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable handling financial information, producing reports and using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

You will also have:

• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• The ability to collect, collate and present information clearly.
• Experience supporting meetings, preparing documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
• An interest and enthusiasm in environmental management, conservation, rural communities or land-based projects.
• Experience of local government, grant administration, financial monitoring or conservation-related programmes would be advantageous, as would familiarity with mapping and geographic information systems.
