Conservation & Wildlife

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nature lover with land management experience and excellent communication skills to join our small and dynamic team.

You will help Make it Wild to grow its impact on biodiversity, across North Yorkshire.

Make it Wild started as a passion project, by the Neave family, to create a haven for nature in 2011. After seven years, the impact of their rewilding and woodland creation on biodiversity was so great, they knew they had to do it again. So in 2017, they set up Make it Wild, which now has 11 sites in North Yorkshire.

The Land Manager will look after young and ancient woodland, grassland and wetland, moorland and wildflower meadows and our conservation grazing herd. You will manage a small and flexible team and work with volunteers. You’ll have a voice in strategic decisions, with our most important colleague, Nature herself, also round the table.

Closing date: 18th September

Interviews: w/c 28th September

About Make it Wild

We work to restore habitats, support biodiversity and help people reconnect with the natural world. That means getting our hands dirty, caring for land over the long term, and making decisions with wildlife firmly in mind. Everything we do starts with supporting biodiversity through habitat creation and restoration. Trees, wetlands, meadows and woodland edges are all part of a wider picture, creating resilient ecosystems where wildlife can thrive.
