Are you an innovative commercial leader with a passion for sustainable growth and environmental investment?

Birmingham City Council is seeking an ambitious Business Development Lead to drive the strategic development of a blended financial model that supports investment, growth, and long-term sustainability across the city's parks and green infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Birmingham's green spaces while delivering commercial success and community value.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, partners, and community groups, you will lead business development initiatives that maximise revenue, attract investment, and support the council's broader strategic objectives.

What you'll do...

  • Develop and deliver a long-term financial strategy for green infrastructure.
  • Drive income generation and commercial growth opportunities.
  • Maximise revenue from parks, events, concessions and commercial assets.
  • Lead business development activity and market research.
  • Build strong partnerships across public, private and community sectors.

What you'll need...

We're looking for a commercially minded leader with experience in:

  • Business development, finance, income generation or commercial projects.
  • Financial planning, forecasting and performance management.
  • Developing successful revenue growth strategies.
  • Stakeholder engagement and partnership working.
  • Leading and developing high-performing teams.
