Community Woodland Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to help regenerate and develop our community-owned woodland in south Skye.

Role: Community Woodland Manager
Hours: Part time (0.6 FTE, some flexibility may be possible)
Contract: 3 years with potential to extend subject to funding
Location: Hybrid role based in Broadford, Isle of Skye (min. 60% of time) and home

Broadford and Strath Community Company (BSCC) is an award-winning community development charity dedicated to creating a strong, self-sufficient, inclusive and eco-friendly community. BSCC has recently acquired a new area of woodland on behalf of the community, supported by the Scottish Land Fund and Highlands & Islands Enterprise. We are seeking a part-time Woodland Manager to lead the project to develop the expanded woodland as a community asset.

This varied role will include overseeing harvesting operations, leading and motivating volunteers, overseeing nature restoration activities and pursuing development projects in line with the Woodland Management Plan. We are looking for a person with relevant qualifications and demonstrable experience in forest or land management, recruiting and leading volunteers, and excellent organisational, communication and management skills.
