Full time, permanent position – 37.5 hours worked 5 days out of any 7-day week
Stanwick Lakes is one of Northamptonshire’s leading countryside attractions, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors each year while managing nationally important wildlife habitats and delivering a varied programme of education and community engagement activities.
We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Ranger to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role that contributes equally to the conservation of the site, the delivery of engaging educational experiences, and the maintenance of high-quality visitor facilities and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be a practical problem-solver who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with people and contributing to the long-term management of the site. They will be comfortable moving between habitat management, education delivery, visitor engagement, maintenance tasks and managing project work, applying sound judgement and a pragmatic approach to ensure the continued success of Stanwick Lakes.

About Stanwick Lakes - Rockingham Forest Trust
The Rockingham Forest Trust manages Stanwick Lakes in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council. It is a 750 acre former sand and gravel quarry which has been transformed into a nature reserve and countryside attraction. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), a Special Protection Area (SPA) and a wetland of international importance.
The Trust’s work is in four main areas. These are:
- Environmental conservation
- Heritage
- Education
- Health, well-being and inclusion
All areas of our work are interlinked and promoted through specific activities and events involving children and adults from across the area. We aim to inspire people to perhaps try something new or to adopt a greener, more wildlife-friendly lifestyle.
