About the Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN)
The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is a farmer-led organisation helping farmers restore the balance between farming and nature. We support farmers by sharing knowledge, resources and case studies that help boost food production, protect wildlife, and build climate resilience.
We influence policy to secure fair rewards for farmers who care for nature, and we connect like-minded farmers across the UK.
Our network is open to all: farmers, the public and partner organisations.
About the Role
Help shape the future of nature-friendly farming by supporting the CEO’s political, policy and external engagement. We are looking for an Executive Liaison to CEO to maintain continuity during maternity leave, coordinating a fast-moving programme of work with government, Parliament, funders, partners and senior stakeholders.
Working closely with the CEO and Head of Policy, you will connect external engagement with colleagues across NFFN, helping turn senior relationships and policy opportunities into practical progress. You will also support governance coordination and effective working between the CEO, Chair, Board and Senior Leadership Team.
Your work will include:
- Coordinate the CEO’s diary, meetings and forward programme, making effective use of their time.
- Research and prepare political and stakeholder briefings, correspondence and presentations.
- Build senior relationships and support the CEO at parliamentary events, conferences and stakeholder meetings.
- Share intelligence across NFFN and ensure actions, commitments and opportunities are followed through.
- Support coordination between the CEO, Chair, Board and Senior Leadership Team.
You will bring experience in a parliamentary or policy setting, sound political judgement and the ability to turn complex information into clear briefings and practical actions. Strong organisation, excellent communication, discretion and confidence working with senior stakeholders are essential, alongside a commitment to nature-friendly farming. Knowledge of agricultural and environmental policy would be an advantage.
This is a 12-month maternity cover post, with an expected start in mid-December 2026 (exact date to be agreed). The contract includes an initial handover before maternity leave and a return handover when the substantive postholder resumes work.
Regular travel across the UK is required to support and accompany the CEO at meetings, events and other engagements, most frequently to the CEO’s farm in Cambridgeshire and to London, including Parliament. Some locations may be rural or not easily accessible by public transport. Occasional overnight stays may be required.
A driving licence or access to a car is not required. Travel arrangements will depend on what is practical and reasonable for the organisation. Reasonable business travel and accommodation expenses are covered in accordance with NFFN’s expenses policy. Reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
Closing date: 9am (UK time) on Oct 21, 2026.
We reserve the right to close applications early if we receive a strong field of applications or identify a suitable candidate before the advertised closing date. We therefore encourage candidates to apply as early as possible.
Phone screens: During the week of closing (exact dates to be confirmed).
Interviews: Week commencing Oct 26, 2026.
