The ACT Rainforest Squad are responsible for practical regeneration, expansion and maintenance projects across Argyll. The Squad is designed to ensure there are Argyll based contractors and volunteers with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to take Argyll's Rainforest Strategy forward. Building on our success, we're looking to expand our team with a:
ACT Rainforest Squad Supervisor
Main function: to supervise and work alongside Rainforest Squad Operatives, scheduling their work and planning day to day activity at the ACT Rainforest Hub and work sites, leading on site health and safety, risk management and maintenance.
The role
You'll coordinate and lead the Squad's day to day work, including:
- Coordinating the works programme with the Rainforest Operations Supervisor and Rainforest Manager
- Ensuring the wellbeing, safety and skills development of the Squad Operatives
- Ensuring Squad operations comply with current legislation, including site induction, method statements and risk assessments
- Working closely with ACT's Nature Regeneration and Senior Management teams to deliver on existing commitments and identify a pipeline of future work
- Overseeing the Squad's engagement with volunteer and community activities arising through other ACT projects
- Conducting work in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way, in keeping with ACT's ethos and objectives
- Attending regular team meetings
