Bat Reserves Officer
Vincent Wildlife Trust
Join our Bat Team!
The Trust’s work focuses on smaller carnivores and rare bats in Britain, Ireland and Europe. The Conservation Team has a track record of delivering ground-breaking projects such as translocating and re-establishing pine marten to mid-Wales, running the first project to build climate change resilience into bat roosts, and developing molecular techniques to monitor population change in woodland bats.
We now need someone passionate about bat conservation who will support VWT’s Bat Team by managing the maintenance and enhancement of bat reserves and to assist with various VWT bat projects.
This fixed-term, part-time role offers an unrivalled opportunity to manage some of Britain’s largest and most important bat reserves and is crucial in supporting the delivery of a wide range of bat conservation projects.
You will need to have practical experience in arboriculture, forestry or land management, construction and nature conservation. You will competently use a range of hand tools and ladders and be experienced in health and safety systems relevant to practical site work, eg, risk assessments, Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) guides and lone working systems. You will also need to have a full UK driving licence.
The Trust offers a quality employment package, but more importantly, we offer you the chance for continued professional development and the opportunity to engage with your peers in Britain and Ireland. We value your growth and believe in providing you with the necessary support and opportunities to excel in your career.
