Volunteer Seal Fieldworker
The Landmark Trust / The Lundy Company
We are looking for a volunteer to join the team in for the end of the 2025 season to support the island's important Atlantic Grey Seal monitoring programme. No specific qualifications or experience are necessary to apply, however, enthusiastic naturalists working towards a career in conservation will be well placed.
The position revolves around seal studies and protection, primarily daily pup checks, weekly full island surveys, disturbance surveys, public engagement and end of season report writing. In-house training will be provided, but prior familiarity with Atlantic Grey Seal identification and ecology is advantageous.
Essential: Willingness to work independently for extended periods on coastal slopes and path.
Desirable: Experience conducting wildlife surveys. Exceptional candidates may have previous marine mammal survey experience or photo identification skills.
Food and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the role.
