Fundraising Volunteer
Natural Neighbours
Natural Neighbours delivers advice, resources, support and a connecting platform to urban communities wanting to collaborate to create networks of habitat for health-giving wildlife. We are particularly focussed on those most socially, economically and racially marginalised of communities.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-starters to work as part of our fundraising team to help our young charity gain the funds it needs to thrive and grow. Greater funding will enable us to build habitat on our ‘hub’ project sites and develop our 'Natural Champions' programme - inspiring young people to become the nature nurturers of the future. Funding means being able to build partnerships that will enable us to connect more of the most nature-deprived people in particular with nature and each other under the common cause of enriching their neighbourhoods with wildlife. If you agree this is all worth delivering, please come and help us fund it!
We would like the volunteer to:
- Help us develop and deliver fundraising for our pipeline of site locations in Hackney, East London, and onwards and outwards to our ensuing programme of activities as we expand both geographically and in terms of our contribution to public understanding of nature-derived health & wellbeing
- In helping deliver fundraising activities, take on a role in researching, drafting, submitting and tracking grant applications, building and managing ethical corporate partnerships, developing and supporting our network of high-net-worth philanthropic supporters setting up and administering mass giving platforms that engage large audiences with supporting our work.
- Engage with our funders, providing feedback on the impact of their investments and inspiring them to get involved, spread the word and continue supporting us with donations
- Contribute to a well-structured, GDPR etc compliant and efficient system of contacts record management with regard to our funders.
You will be working with the director, relevant trustee/s and other volunteers as part of our Finance, Fundraising and Volunteering working group which will provide an overview of our existing fundraising approach.
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of writing and editing documents and who is a good record keeper; enabling them, and us, to keep track of interactions with potential funders. Experience of using AI as a starting point for producing documents will also be helpful.
The volunteer should also have
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to quickly understand the needs of our team, organisation and users
- The ability and confidence to ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
- An understanding of the resource constraints of a small charity, and willingness to work with these
- An open and relaxed approach to giving and receiving feedback
- Ideally an interest in and passion for urban nature and nature-derived health and wellbeing
