Volunteer Officer, Practical Conservation
The Conservation Volunteers, Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park
The successful applicant would assist in the preparation, planning and leading of workdays with teams of mixed ability volunteers, and undertake practical management on a variety of habitats including meadow, marsh and woodland to shingle beach and open water with the aim of supporting biodiversity.
They should be good communicators with excellent English, patience, an adaptable approach and a knowledge or interest in habitat management and practical ecology and preferably be educated in environmental and or biological sciences to a good level - ideal for graduates. Experience of working with nature, volunteers or community groups would be an advantage.
Excellent opportunity to gain experience in this field on a diverse site working with a diverse range of people and wildlife.
The time commitment would be 3 days a week for 6 months including Saturdays and Wednesdays.
The successful applicant would receive First Aid At Work, Safeguarding and other in-house relevant training.
References required, and DBS check for the successful applicant would be arranged.
