Social Media Volunteer
Forest Farm Peace Garden
We would like to raise our digital profile by starting a TikTok profile and establish a regular cadence to our social media posting (Instagram/TikTok, and some Facebook). We also use event platforms like Eventbrite to manage our event workshops.
What will you be doing?
FFPG is a therapeutic community garden supporting wellbeing through ecotherapy and food growing. We want to boost our digital profile and are seeking a creative volunteer to help launch our TikTok channel and build a regular social media rhythm (including facebook/instagram). You’ll create simple, engaging content that highlights garden life, events and our impact, and help us understand what works.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Social Media Marketing volunteer with at least three years’ experience creating and managing content for social media platforms. This experience may come from paid roles, freelance work, personal projects or previous volunteering, but applicants should be confident working independently and bringing ideas to life from start to finish.
The ideal volunteer will have hands-on experience creating short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, including filming and editing videos and writing engaging captions. They should understand how different platforms work, what makes content engaging, and how to build a consistent posting rhythm over time. Experience planning content, even informally, and using basic engagement metrics to understand what performs well would be beneficial.
We are particularly looking for someone who is comfortable shaping a charity’s digital presence and helping it grow. This includes an ability to think creatively about how to tell stories, highlight impact and communicate in an accessible, human way. Experience working with brands, organisations or community projects on social media would be an advantage.
As this role involves capturing content in the garden, applicants should be willing to attend our site in Hainault occasionally to film short clips and gather material. They should be comfortable working outdoors and around volunteers and participants, and able to do so sensitively and respectfully.
An interest in nature, community work, mental wellbeing or the charity sector is welcomed, though not essential. What matters most is a genuine interest in using social media skills to support a small charity with limited capacity and high impact.
What difference will you make?
Your support will raise FFPG’s profile and help more people discover our ecotherapy and community gardening programmes. By creating regular, engaging social content, you’ll help us reach new participants, volunteers and supporters, and strengthen how we demonstrate our impact to funders and partners.
