Shadow Volunteer
Forestry England
Forestry England's Shadow Volunteer scheme offers a variety of 6 month volunteer placements. Successful applicants shadow and are mentored by an experienced member of staff and provided with training, development of on-the-job skills and experience. As your placement comes to an end you will be given guidance and support in looking for and applying for employment in the forestry sector.
We are looking for individuals who want to gain practical experience in the forestry sector and are interested in land management, conservation, community engagement, recreation or working with volunteers.
We currently have different opportunities in South, East, Central and Yorkshire Districts.

Forestry England is an executive agency, sponsored by the Forestry Commission. We receive just under a quarter of our income from the Forestry Commission, and the rest we generate ourselves. All our income goes back into creating beautiful forests for people to enjoy and homes for wildlife.
