The Tidal Dee Catchment Partnership is seeking an independent Chair to help shape the future of one of the UK's most important estuarine environments.

The Dee Estuary sits at the intersection of nature, industry and communities, spanning the England–Wales border. It faces significant challenges including water quality pressures, habitat loss, climate change and the complexities of cross-border governance.

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative leader who can bring people together, build trusted relationships across sectors, and help drive meaningful action for the Dee.

This is a unique opportunity to:

  • Chair a growing cross-border partnership
  • Strengthen collaboration between organisations and sectors
  • Help shape the future direction of the Dee Estuary
  • Champion environmental improvement at a landscape scale

The role will involve approximately 10–15 days per year, including quarterly meetings, preparation and external representation. The Partnership's preference is for the role to be voluntary, although appropriate support or remuneration can be discussed where necessary.

Application deadline: Midday, 20 July 2026

About Tidal Dee Catchment Partnership

The Tidal Dee Catchment Partnership was formed in response to Defra’s 2013 call for hosts to facilitate local collaboration between stakeholders, and to identify priority actions for the water environment. Our vision is that the Dee estuary is clean and full of wildlife, enjoyed by people and sustainably managed.
