The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park (FoTHCP) is an award-winning environmental charity dedicated to protecting and enhancing one of the capital’s most remarkable green spaces. Our 31-acre Local Nature Reserve includes one of the historic ‘Magnificent Seven’ Victorian cemeteries, alongside Scrapyard Meadow and Ackroyd Drive Greenlink. Designated a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, it is London’s most central urban woodland - a haven for biodiversity and people alike.
We are seeking a Seasonal Cemetery Park Ranger (8 months) to join our small, dedicated team during our busiest and most vibrant season.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, varied role at the heart of the Cemetery Park. You will:
- Deliver practical conservation and habitat management work
- Support and lead volunteers
- Engage with visitors and community groups
- Help maintain the beauty, safety and ecological integrity of the site
- Contribute to the smooth running of our dynamic charity
You’ll work closely with the Cemetery Park Manager and the Cemetery Park Officer, while also having the confidence and initiative to work independently.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organised, motivated and practical
- Comfortable engaging with the public and supporting volunteers
- Experienced in conservation or habitat management (paid or voluntary)
- Enthusiastic about urban nature and community green spaces
- Adaptable and confident working within a small charity environment
Experience in parks or nature reserves is highly desirable.
